Wanna see a 16-cylinder engine that’ll put the Bugatti Veyron’s W-16 to shame?
Clap your horsepower-crazed eyes on this: A billet-block, 12.3-liter V-16 engine strapped with four 81mm turbos. Then listen as it maxes out the engine dyno at 4515 hp.

Steve Morris Engines, the builder behind this monster motor, claims that, on a dyno that could handle it, this engine could surpass 5000 horsepower—along with more than 3,500 lb.-ft. of torque at a massive 36 psi of boost. A more conservative “street tune” (hah!) making just 20 psi nets 3002 horses and 2407 lb.-ft.
This ridiculous motor is destined for the Devel Sixteen, a daydream hypercar project that . . . sheesh. With that engine, what more do we need to say?
Update, November 6th, 2017: Looks like Steve Morris Engines finally got an upgraded dyno capable of handling the giant V16’s power. A new video posted a few days ago shows the 12.3-liter quad-turbo engine making a dyno-verified 5007 horsepower. We spoke with Steve Morris himself, and saw the V16 with our own eyes, back in 2015—read all about it here.
